WHAT DOES "BOKEH" STAND FOR?

Bokeh (Japanese for "blurry, out of focus") is a term used in photography that depicts the aesthetic quality of a blurred area.

When taking pictures of certain motifs the background is often deliberately kept out of focus in order to shift the focus of the viewer to the main subject. While on some lenses there might be, for instance, bright circles appearing in the blurred areas, on other lenses they come in different shape, colour or contrast. These different appearances of the blurred areas as well as the quality of the transition are called Bokeh of a lens.

What proves the authenticity of the purchased art photograph?

All our limited edition prints come with a certificate that has been signed and numbered by the artist. In addition, every work of art has a certificate of authenticity attached to its back side, attesting its origin and edition.

What is your definition of a limited edition?

Needless to say, the number of artworks in limited editions is narrowed down. When selecting the edition size, we take the preference of the artist, the character of the artwork as well as the printing format into account. The larger the printing size, the smaller the edition we offer – thus we highlight the exclusivity of the artwork and its physical appearance.

The entire edition of an artwork is understood as the sum of editions of all printing formats offered. While our standard limited edition holds a total of 500 prints, an edition for art collectors includes only 250.

What secure payment methods do you offer?

You can pay your purchased artwork conveniently with the use of credit card (MasterCard, VISA), PayPal or bank transfer. Your order will be confirmed immediately after authorization/receipt of your payment, and will be sent to production immediately. To ensure the security of your online payments we use a cryptographic protocol (256-bit SSL). More information about the payment process can be found on the following page.

What happens when I receive a damaged order?

Please check your delivery in the presence of the delivery person for visible defects. You should refuse to accept the delivery if you detect an obvious defect (open or heavily damaged package, exposed artwork, audible breakage of glass) at first glance. In this case, please contact us immediately so we can order a replacement. As this situation calls for a quick solution, it is helpful if you email us photos showing the defects. This enables us to effectively document the damage event.

In all other cases you should express your reservation to the carrier and inspect the delivered artwork immediately. You have a maximum of 2 days to report hidden defects to us. Should you notice any damage please contact us right away and send us pictures showing the damages. Please keep the original packaging in case a return is necessary.

How should the photograph be stored before hanging it up?

Store the photograph upright in its protective packaging to guard it against any damage. In case the photograph is stored in a tilted or horizontal position over a long time it might slightly morph ("sag").

What kind of places are suitable for hanging up photographs?

It is important to note that neither the frame nor the photograph may be exposed to direct sunlight. Furthermore, pieces of art should not be hung over radiators or in living areas that are extremely humid.

How should I clean my photograph?

Dust your photograph with a lint-free, soft and dry cloth (e.g. made of microfiber). Note that the use of glass cleaning products might shorten the durability of your work of art. Moreover, do not apply any pressure when wiping the surface. Aluminium, glass and wooden frames also prove to be quite scratch- and stain-sensitive and must therefore be handled with gloves or similarly protective materials only.
